World Cup Brazil: Obese People Will Be Provided With Special Seats And Discounts

According to reports, Brazil just passed a law ensuring that one percent of the seats at 12 new stadiums being built for this summer’s World Cup will be dedicated for fans with disabilities, including obesity. Those with a body mass index (BMI) of 30-plus will also receive a 50 percent discount on tickets. It all makes sense once you consider the steadily increasing obesity rates in the country. Between 2006-2011, the rates went from 42.7 percent to 48.5 percent of the population.
