Relationships are tricky. They involve emotions, and sometimes, those emotions can betray you. Have you ever been 'tricked' into a relationship before? Get out before it is too late. Here are 5 ways you've been duped.

1. Your 'partner' leaves their toothbrush at your place. Or any other belongings they can come back for.

You forgot your toothbrush.

When someone you're seeing casually starts leaving things around your place to give you hints that they'll be back. Sometimes it can be a good thing. Sometimes not. Establish some boundaries if you have to.

2. It was lust. Not love.

The sex was great. Those kisses gave you butterflies in your stomach. How can this not be love? Right?

3. Your 'partner' was perfect before things started to become serious. After that, all the layers start to peel off.

Better have that talk first!

Everyone wears a mask before the fights, before the sloppiness, before all the annoying character traits you hated in a person, Take things slow and get to know them first.

4. Your 'partner' pretended to be interested in all your friends and all your friends convinced you it was the right thing to do.

Seeing someone of interest get a long with everyone you know can be a great and wonderful thing. But just ask yourself if you are really ready to make things official and serious.

5. You did it out of...settling.

And you realize you have nothing in common after that!

They say there really isn't the-one out there, but if it doesn't feel right, don't go through with it!

In truth, you can't really be tricked into a relationship, except for point 3 and 5. Get to know them better before you make things serious, and never settle.
