Photographer Builds Own Laser Shutter Photography To Shoot Insects

Photographer Linden Gledhill built his own off the shelf system called StopShot so he could snap macro shots of insects... in flight!
The results were so good that Cognysis, the company behind the StopShot laser triggers decided to commercialize his creation. The system is dubbed the IRIG SYS 01 or also known as "high speed insect capture system".
It rigs a pair of criss-cross lasers and sensors to detect and snap a photo when an insect passes through the camera's focal point.
Unfortunately, if this is your hobby, it doesn't come cheap. At $2,300 (approx RM 6,800) - which doesn't include the camera and lenses, it's not going to be a viable one. Check out Gledhill's work at the links:
