The bowls you see in the picture above are actually speakers. Designer Casey Lin has created a fully functioning set of speakers that look like a pair of clear glass bowls. She calls them Timbre Speakers.
The wooden box has surface transducers that vibrate said box, turning it into a speaker itself. The vibrations travel into bowls, which have a concave shape to amplify the sound. The bowls aren't even all the way around. You can alter both bass and treble.
A stable wireless connection supports multiple aspects of daily activities. However, the signal strength may get reduced in distant bedrooms, upper floors or balcony spaces.
