First dates can be tough. Awkward. And plain weird sometimes. You have to dive deep into conversation mode and start talking about everything and anything just to find out if the other person is interesting or not. Sometimes, there's the golden silence. The awkward silence. Everyone on a first date is afraid of that. And everyone is afraid they'll get so nervous they'll spill food all over themselves.

Designer Christina Guardiola's "First Date Cutlery" makes the first meeting a tad bit less awkward. The soup spoon is shaped in such a way to prevent spillage and limit slurping. Less embarrassment! We like it already.

The fork and knife have magnets embedded in them. According to Guardiola, "This encourages short breaks from eating and a willingness to chat."

If they don't work, they could be used as conversation fodder at the very least. [PSFK]
