Apple has been making all of its products white since 2001. But according to Leander Kahne, the author of "
Jony Ive, The Genius Behind Apple's Greatest Products", it nearly didn't turn out that way.
When Apple's designers were presenting products to Jobs, he apparently disliked the color white. To make him happy, the designers had to come up with colors that were close to white which included cloud white, snow white, glacial white, and moon gray.
The last one was approved by Jobs as it looked like it was white, but was really gray. It ended up being used for the keyboard and the cords on iPod ear phones.
