Here are the winning images for the 49th annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Run by the British National History Museum and BBC Worldwide, it showcases the best in nature photography.
The competition saw some 43,000 photos submitted from 96 countries. The winning images will be exhibited at the Natural History Museum in London until March 23, 2014.
The overall winner of the 2013 Wildlife Photographer of the Year is Greg du Toit (South Africa) for his photo, Essence of Elephants.
