Wicked Lasers just revealed the Evo laser pointer, which can be customized and controlled using an app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

The laser pointer boasts some 100mW of power, but it isn't the most powerful handheld laser that Wicked Lasers sells. For $200, the Evo is your standard on/off push button laser pointer, but when you attach its Smartport you can control it from your smartphone via a standard audio cable. But for an extra $40, an optional Bluetooth module lets you go wireless.

Wicked Lasers has also made the Evo's firmware open source. So for an optional $30 cable, you can actually reprogram the laser as you see fit, making the Evo an ideal tool for researchers or those conducting experiments.
