Instead of installing ugly boring solar panels on the roof, how about putting one on display in your home that doubles up as an art installation?

Students at Stanford University have designed an entire sustainable house called the Start.Home. It is about finding energy-efficient appliances and how you can save more money on your power bill.

The sculpture hanging on the wall features a series of opposing wooden slats that fan or slide together depending on how efficient the home's solar cells are operating at.
