Think you're an expert at experiencing boiling rage, peaceful bliss or
meditative chill? If you compete in this project, you'll probably score
yourself a free lollipop.
The Emotional Arcade can best be described as a blend of art, neuroscience and technology. Cooked up by filmmaker Brent Hoff, participants are hooked up to EEG headsets which monitor and record brain activity.
The headsets will then convert that activity into air pressure to fill a balloon. And whoever's balloon pops first is deemed the winner.
The goal of the project is to make others know it's okay to feel and express emotions, especially in a society that Hoff believes is losing its ability to do so.
"I really just want to live in a world where there's at least one place where we are encouraged for feeling emotion,"
"It seems like we're so afraid of emotion in society now, so I'm really glad that people have responded to this."
