The FX channel is ordering 13 episodes of Guillermo del Toro's vampire mystery book trilogy The Strain, and is scheduled to appear July 2014.

Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris) has been cast as the main character Dr. Ephraim Goodweather along with Mia Maestro and Sean Astin (who plays Jim Kent).

As for what we can expect from the show, it mostly will involves lots of gruesome vampires who live in the sewers and shit themselves when they feed. Sounds... interesting.
