Dave Grohl brought a crying fan up onstage to sing 'My Hero' with him druing a show over the weekend. It's an awesome song, and eagle eye Dave spotted him and told him to come up on stage. But why was he crying? Turns out, it's a very emotional reason.
Here's the video again:
He explained to a local rock station:
“My mom died about six months ago, and I’d just got back from Europe putting her in her crypt, and he just started singing it and I just got all emo. What I hated is he was like, “Oh he’s a drunk guy.” I was dead sober. I don’t drink. You know, I might have had a little Colorado green, but I don’t drink.”
When he got on stage, he had a few moments to whisper his story to the rock star.
“We chatted, I told him what was going down. What a cool man he was. Just a super cool dude.”
