'X-Scream' Running With The Latest Running Shoes From Salomon [REVIEW]
May 05, 2014 22:55
Salomon, the go-to outdoor gear manufacturer committed to innovative design and passion for mountain sports, is renowned for its vast range of revolutionary new concepts in boots, skis and apparel. And this latest X-SCREAM model is certainly no different.
This agile runner is designed to provide just the right amount of cushioning for running on pavement, while also offering adequate the protection and grip needed for tackling rougher trails and looser surfaces.
Here's our official verdict:
Since we weren't keen on the color options for the women's range, we decided to go with this striking 'Black/Fluorescent Yellow/Autobahn' colorway (men's US size 7) which was still a little extra
roomy around the toe box. If you prefer a
snugger fit, start with your true size before going up a
half size.
Despite the bulkiness, these lightweight shoes were surprisingly easy to walk around in. A combination of SensiFit™ and SensiFlex™ tech really does the job in hugging the foot snugly. The padded, layered mesh material on the uppers not only makes it easier to flex the foot while running, but also prevents any funky foot odors from settling in.
There's an EVA-shaped foot-bed which allows you to thread lightly in order to reduce fatigue, while also preventing your running form from collapsing. The lightweight muscle support chassis adds an elastic element during toe-off to propel you froward. We weren't too keen on the high-arch located on the removable insole.
The special Contagrip sole at bottom offers just the right
amount of traction for tackling off-road terrain, yet also enough fluidity in your footsteps for running on asphalt. So don't worry about any sudden slips while running around the city.
The most notable feature of all has to be the Quicklace™ lacing system, which is meant to tighten laces faster, more evenly
and efficiently in a single pull.
The directions included in the box weren't descriptive, so
expect some trial and error while trying to figure out how to lace up. The
trick is to yank the lace, lock it in place with the plastic 'stopper', before finally tucking it all inside the convenient pocket located beneath the 'S' logo on the
tongue.
Overall, these shoes are definitely built to be light yet tough enough to take you from street to trails. There's no doubt that serious hikers who love tackling marathons with mixed terrains will benefit from owning a pair.
Priced at RM495 per pair, Salomon's newest runner can be found at allWorld Of Sports retail outlets located throughout Malaysia.
Online casino lobbies look like they are in a hurry. Everything wants to be new. A new slot with a louder cover. A new live game with a presenter smiling into the camera. A crash game moving in seconds. A jackpot row. A “hot” row. A “new” row. Another row that looks almost the same as the one above it. Read more
Freeze-dried dog treats have come a long way from the days of mystery jerky strips and ingredient lists you needed a chemistry degree to decode. Pup parents today have more options than ever, which sounds great until you're standing in a pet store aisle holding two bags, wondering what actually separates a quality treat from one that's just marketed well.
