Like all things, excuses have evolved. From the usual suspects of "Life is not fair", and "I'm too busy", here's a list of excuses that won't work in today's world. The reason? Blame technology.

1) I left my wallet home. Do you mind getting the check this time?
Or you could wire me the money straight from your phone, because that would be a good idea.



2) Really Officer, I wasn't texting.
I was Facebooking! Or Snapchatting. There's a difference, right?



3) The dog ate my homework.
Because the computer is so delicious.


4) I'm too sick to come to work.
You can work from home, thank you very much.


5) I worked late and then came straight home.
But before that, Foursquare said you were at this bar, then that bar, and so on.


6) I didn't know he was married.
Because I didn't bother Googling him.


7) Sorry, I would have called but couldn't find a phone.
And I'm 50 years in the past because everyone doesn't have a mobile phone.


8) Snapchat photos always disappear.
Or do they? Take a mental note.


9) I called you back but you didn't pick up.
Not according to my missed call list, you didn't!


10) I forgot the meeting was today!
Finally, Google Calendar slips up.
