We all know guys who blame alcohol for their Jekyll & Hyde-like behavior when picking up chicks at bars. But according to researchers at the University of Toronto and the University of Washington, this is nothing but pure B.S.
The
study involving 140 young adults revealed there was no relationship between male sexual aggression and intoxication. During the study, two-thirds of the aggressors physically touched women without consent, around 17 percent threatened contact, and 9 percent engaged in verbal harassment.
The findings showed that "initiators' level of invasiveness was related to the intoxication of the targets, but not their own intoxication". This would suggest that these "predators" not only intentionally targeted drunk women, but that they were fully aware of what they're doing.
