Admit it, you’ve always wanted to own a summer house, but you’ve been a tad deterred by the idea of the maintenance. It’s a bit of a pain in the neck to take care of the house while you’re not using it. Why not kill two birds with one stone, and buy yourself a nice retreat which you can also rent and make a profit from while you’re working back home?

Why Europe?
Believe it or not, but because it is affordable. It may take a while to do all the paperwork, but in the end, it will pay off. The Old Continent has its unique charm, appealing to both Americans and the natives. Nothing says holiday like changing the continent.

Tourism is one profitable economy branch, so here are some of the most beautiful and lucrative options should you decide to invest in holiday apartments.

Santorini, Greece
You know those blue rooftops, small white houses, and the spectacular sunsets? This is that place! Of course, you could inquire about buying some apartments at Mykonos, too, but this is much cheaper, and it gives the tourists exactly what they came for to Greece to enjoy.

Mind you, the latest foreign tourism reports say the arrivals to Greece rose by 1.4% in 2019.

Alanya, Turkey
Their next-door neighbor sounds a bit more exotic and definitely has its oriental niche.

Turkey has lots of wonderful beach destinations, with Alanya and Bodrum being the most renowned ones. Both offer splendid beaches, but we would definitely recommend buying property in Turkey, especially Alanya. Why? Alanya is more affordable, yet it has all the perks of a resort city: beautiful beaches, historic places (Perge and Olympos), even waterfalls and canyons. In short, an all-around experience.

Sainte-Maxime, France
It’s not Nice or Cannes, but it is named a European Best Destination. With a dash of Provance, the spirit of the French riviera, minus the paparazzi (as is the case in Saint Tropez), Sainte-Maxime could be a diamond in the rough.

However, there is nothing rough about it. The beaches are superb, the cuisine is delicious, and there are even casinos for those who feel like trying their luck. The Guardian calls it Saint-Tropez’s low-key little sister, which should be recommendation enough.

Costa Brava, Spain
Whoever’s going to Spain would like to enjoy the sun, beaches, and visit La Sagrada Familia, right? If you purchase an apartment in Costa Brava, you’ll be able to enjoy both of these, as Barcelona is just an hour away.

What is more, Tamariu has been enlisted as one of the best beaches by the Telegraph. Costa Brava has lots of beaches that attract tourists fed up with crowded resorts. In contrast, this is where you will get a real holiday (or your guests).

So, how do you like our list? Whichever place you opt for, chances are you’ll have the apartments booked in no time. If you have any questions, feel free to post a comment!
