One of the most beautiful places to go to for the summer is the Gold Coast. However, some people are intimidated of the area because of its, apparently, high costs of touring around! Obviously, we want to have fun on a budget and not think about the tons of money to spend.

With that being said, you'll be surprised that there are so many fun things to do in the area without spending anything. And no, it isn't just limited to the many beautiful beaches they have around. So if you're planning to go visit the Gold Coast anytime soon, here are the free things you can do when around the area.

What You Can Do On the Gold Coast For FREE!
Just like your own hometown, there are limitless activities on what you can do in the Gold Coast. It doesn't even need to cost a cent and you'll still have fun! Here are my seven favorite activities to try when in the area:

1. Visit National Parks
Did you know that all of the National Parks around the Gold Coast has No entry fee? Not only that, but they're well-maintained and have the amazing views and trails to try out!

There are so many things you can do in one (or all) of their National Parks, from trekking through rain forests down to swimming by the streams. You can even join a club to make new friends and walk the trails as you learn more about the area.

2. Swim In Beaches
Just like the National Parks, Gold Coast's beaches have no charge as well. In fact, the area's known for their abundance of beautiful beaches, which are well taken cared for and are secure with lifeguards.

When it's a hot day or you want to go out and enjoy the fantastic views, get your beach blankets out and lounge by the shoreline. It's perfect for groups of families and friends!

3. Check Out the Adventurous Free Attractions
Besides the beaches and parks, there are so many adventures you can do in Gold Coast without the cost. There's the Currumbin Rock Pools, where you can swim in freshwater rock pools and creaks. There's the Lahey's Canungra Tramway Tunnel with lots of history for a photo op. You can even visit the O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk, which is a beautiful are adhere you can experience nature from the bridge to the observation decks.

4. Window Shop and Check Out the Arts and Crafts Markets
Don't have the budget to shop but want to check out what you can buy in the future? Whether you're a fashionista or love the arts, the Gold Coast offers a strip of beautiful and unique stores.

There are a lot of fashion houses by Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise, as well as beautiful shopping centers to visit. You can even visit the Arts and Crafts Markets, as well as farmers markets, around various beachfront.

5. Look At Museums and Galleries
There are so many museums and art galleries that have no entrance fees as well, with some offering tours.

There are exhibits on local art pieces from the Robina Community Centre. For sports, visit the Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame to learn all about the area's sports history! If you want to know about the Gold Coast's history, check out the Gold Coast Historic Museum.

6. Search For Free Festivals
Gold Coast has a lot of cultures and is big on arts, hosting free events and festivals to celebrate it. You can time your visits during these festivals!

There's a music festival all about the blues and soul featuring Australian talent held in May.
Another festival is all about kite culture, filled with music, food, and the arts in November (the Kirra Kite Festival).
Head on to the Currumbin Beach and had fun in the Swell Sculpture Festival!
Go to the Bleach Festival to celebrate all about the culture of Gold Coast's beach lifestyle
There's also a Multicultural Festival that's perfect for the family

7. Exercise at the Fitness Circuits
Are you looking for places to exercise in but don't want to commit to the gym membership? There are fitness circuits in Kurrawa Park and other parks with various fitness stations. That way, you can use some of their equipment to lift heavy without the huge costs.

If lifting's not your forte, you can find a ton of good running or cycling trails, too.
