If you’re like most people, you would rather spend your time doing just about anything besides cleaning your house. When it comes to cleaning, you want to get it over with as quickly as possible. To help you get your housekeeping done faster and free up time for other activities, we’ve compiled a list of things that will help you get out of the house and enjoy the rest of your day.

Gather Your Cleaning Supplies in One Place

Organize your supplies in one area in a bucket or tote. Keeping all your things together in a central location will make cleaning a lot easier because you won’t waste time looking for things you need while you clean. It will also make putting things away when you’re finished much easier.

Stick to Products You Need

Don’t buy specialty products for every cleaning need. Using a different product for every cleaning need wastes time and money. Find a few products that will work on multiple surfaces and cover all of your cleaning needs.

Declutter Your Home

Getting rid of excess stuff before you have to clean will make it easier to clean and will save a lot of time. Clear countertops, find a home for books and magazines, and throw out things you don’t need. Pick up clothes and shoes from the floor. This will make dusting and vacuuming much easier.

Have a Cleaning Plan

Having a system will help you to clean effectively. Clean from top to bottom so that all the dirt falls down onto the area you haven’t yet cleaned, and clean from one side of the room to the other. Be sure to dust ceiling fans first so that you don’t dirty an already cleaned surface. Move in a single direction around a room, and clean the floor last. This is the cleaning strategy used by the Minneapolis Cleaning Services Company, and it will save you time.

Dust First

Use a microfiber cloth to dust all furniture, lampshades, and anything hanging on the walls. Be sure to dust picture frames, knick-knacks, and TV screens. As previously mentioned, work from top to bottom and in a single direction around the room you are in. That way you won’t miss something or reclean an area.

Bathrooms and Kitchen

Spray cleaner on kitchen and bathroom sinks, tubs, and toilets. Let it sit before scrubbing while you wash countertops, appliances, cabinets, and light switches. Don’t forget to wipe down the inside of the microwave. Clean toilets last.

Vacuum and Mop

Leave floors till last. Sweep or vacuum and then mop the bathroom, kitchen, and the floor of any other room that needs it.

Use Teamwork

One person doesn’t have to do all the cleaning. Many hands make light work, so enlist the help of your children or other family members. The cleaning process will go a lot faster.

Cleaning your house yourself will take a lot longer than it would if you used a professional cleaning company. However, by using the above tips, it will take less time and free the rest of your day for some fun activities.
