A study published in the Journal of Consumer Marketing found that taking pictures of food before eating it makes it taste better. The reason behind it is because of delayed gratification.
Three experiments were conducted with 120 undergraduate students to see the effect of delayed consumption resulting from photo taking.
They found that Instagramming photos of foods like caramel, apples, or hamburgers, got tastier before it was eaten. The same didn't apply for healthy foods like salads.
