BElla is now a male character named Beau and Edward is a female named Edythe.
The whole book is 442 pages too long. Werewolf Jacob Black became Julie too.
Meyer says that the novel with the gender bending twist was prompted by her desire to prove that Bella isn't a "damsel in distress,' but a "human in distress.'
