Dining etiquette is important, but it could also be different from one place to another. If you're planning on traveling, here are some places that have some specific set of rules. So don't offend anyone! Check it out below:

Japan

Don't: Cross your or lick your chopsticks
Do: Drink from bowl and slurp.


Thailand

Don't: Take the last bite from the sharing bowl.
Do: Use fork to push onto spoon.


Morocco

Don't: Wipe your hands on your napkin.
Do: Scoop food with bread or use your thumband first two fingers of your hand.


India

Don't: Eat too quickly. Never use your left hand.
Do: Wash your hands before eating and finish your meal.


El Salvador

Don't: Eat fruit with your hands. Use utensils.
Do: Stand when anyone comes to the table.


China

Don't: add a tip and never finish your food.
Do: belch.


Ghana

Don't: eat until the eldest male does.
Do: Eat with your hands and greet the eldest family member first.


Saudi Arabia

Don't: Eat with your left hand.
Do: Sit cross-legged or kneel on one knee if the meal is served on the floor.


Columbia

Don't: Use a toothpick at the table or put your elbows on the table.
Do: Pass the dishes to your left and keep your knife in your right hand and fork in your left.


Italy

Don't: Keep your hands in your lap.
Do: Hold fork in left and knife in the right.


Portugal

Don't: Ask for salt and pepper. It's rude!
Do: Leave a tip.


France

Don't: Split the bill. Offer to pay it in its entirety.
Do: Rest your wrists on the table.
