Need to manage those stress levels of yours? How about drinking some coffee. A new study led by a group of scientists from Brazil and Portugal and the U.S. have set out to find how caffeine has an effect over managing stress.
The study used mice to conduct their study and they were given caffeine in their drinking water.
The group of mice were exposed to a series of stressful situations and those who did not receive caffeine in their water showed stress-induced changes in their brains and behavior.
Scientists believe that caffeine blocks certain adenosine receptors from causing a stress response.
While this was only conducted with mice, it's not definitive to say that it does the same for humans.
So before they find all of that out, we suppose there's no harm in having a cup or two to help reduce your stress.
