You haven't seen adorable before if you haven't seen the ili pikia. It lives on the sloping mountains of China and it is extremely rare. So rare that it hasn't been seen in more than 20 years!
The ili pika is an elusive creature. It doesn't like to share how cute it looks to the world. Scientist Weidong Li first discovered it in the mountains of northwestern China 20 years ago. After many years, he returned, and managed to photograph the super cute fella.

The ila pika lives in the Tianshan Mountains. It has seen declines in population and is considered vulnerable to extinction.
