Bride 'Trashes the Dress' After being Dumped by Her Fiancé

This is Shelby Swink, and she was busy preparing for her big day in November 2014 when her fiancé told her that he did not love her, and called the wedding off. Her four years relationship ended a week before the wedding, and as she mourned the idea of a 'Trash the Dress' photo shoot came up. Swink asked photographer Elizabeth Hoard to set the photo shoot. "The moment the paint hit my dress, I was free. All the disappointment, all the hurt, I just felt it leave me... I can't even describe how liberating and cathartic the experience was for me. I let go of all the hurt and became myself again," Swink told Offbeat Bride.
"I am a strong woman who believes that everything happens for a reason... We all face adversity in our lives, but what really define us is how we decide to overcome that adversity. I decided that I will not let this tragedy and heartbreak consume me, and bring me down in life." - Shelby Swink
