Stuart Holroyd loves canines, and he moved to Cyprus in 2014 which he later learned that the owner of Bay Tree Rescue, Kayte Wilson-Smith, was struggling with getting donations as the rescue center is funded entirely by Wilson-Smith's pension and donations. The Bay Tree Rescue is a small center for stray, abused, and abandoned dogs in Cyprus.

Holroyd uses his photography skills to get involved in the project called 'Bay Tree Project' which aimed to create a fantasy portraits of the dogs that are meant to raise funds, awareness, and adoptions. His elaborate series would be created to match the personality and characteristics of the dog.
