Not every star you see started out with the idea of being famous. Some of them were discovered, accidentally. These accidental encounters have given us some of the biggest names in movies and TV. Check them out:

1. Danny Trejo

Trejo was in and out of prison for years for various offenses. After rehab from drug addiction, he became a sponsor to another member of his rehab clinic, and a friend called him for support and asked him to meet at his work, which was on a film set, where they needed a scary looking guy to stand in for a role. The rest is history.

2. Pamela Anderson

Anderson was discovered at a Football League game, where the camera caught her in the crowd wearing a t-shirt for Labatt's beer stretched over her large bust. She immediately became famous for it, and she would soon after sign a contract to model for Labatt.

3. Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson was homeless when she was discovered. Both her and her mother were evicted from their apartment, and while sitting on the front stop to the building, Harmony Korine and Larry Clark were out scouting for actual street kids to cast in their film Kids. They saw Rosario and told her she would be perfect for the role. That jump started her acting career.

4. Charlize Theron

Theron flew to Los Angeles in hopes of turning a modeling career into a movie career. But like all aspiring actresses, things didn't go well at first. She was struggling to make rent. When she tried to cash in a check from her mom, the teller refused prompting Theron to get into a shouting match with the teller. Talent agent John Crosby who saw the whole thing was impressed with her display of emotion.

5. Chris Pratt

Pratt waited tables at a Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant in Hawaii when filmmaker Rae Dawn Chong saw him and was impressed with his server spiel. She put him in her film Cursed 3. He's now set to headline Guardians of the Galaxy.

6. Toni Braxton

Braxton was attending Bowie State University where she would pursue a career in teaching. But that didn't happen. She was discovered while she was singing to herself as she filled up gas at a kiosk.

7. Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman was at the same pizza parlor as a scout for Revlon. She was initially scouted for modeling but she decided to let the agent know she was more interested in acting.

8. Harrison Ford

Ford had dabbled in acting but gave it up to work in construction because that was more financially secure. He never intended to audition for the part of Han Solo, but his friend knew he would be perfect for it. He sent Ford to work on a door near George Lucas who remembered him from the film America Graffiti, and he called Ford to read some lines. The rest was history.

9.  Channing Tatum

Tatum was a roofer but decided to leave the job to make more money as a male stripper. He also had quite a nice physical build and was discovered by chance on the streets of Miami when a modeling agent walked past him.
