In fact, it can be used to deodorize anything from stuffed animals to stinky shoes. Real Simple advises to first clean the freezer entirely with baking soda. Then, punch a few holes in a fresh pack of baking soda and leave it in the freezer. That will continue the odor absorption to prevent your freezer from stinking.
