Science Confirms That Rebound Sex Is The Real Deal

Heartbroken people of the world, you no longer have to feel guilty about hooking up with strangers after getting dumped. According to a recent study, sleeping with someone you don't really care about is actually a fairly popular way for the jilted party in a breakup to get past their feelings of inadequacy or undesirability.
The study conducted by researchers at the University of Missouri found that within the first four weeks after a breakup, about a third of study participants had sex with a new partner.
It's interesting to note that many who did this reported that they did it as a way to get back at their ex. And the likelihood of participants having all this "revenge sex" would increase if the person in question was the one who got dumped in the relationship. But the more driven by anger participants were in engaging in post-breakup sex, the more likely they were to continue having meaningless sexual encounters, which in turn extends the duration of that behavioral phase.
So if you're having sex just to make an outside party angry, it probably really won't do any good to your long-term mental
health.
