Dutch architecture firm 8A built an interesting stairway and couch fusion for a ‘pied a terre’ home in the Netherlands.
A Dutch family living in Paris commissioned this project for occasional use. The space was limited, and the clients didn't want to compromise creativity, so the architecture firm enhanced it with a furniture mix that was both unconventional and highly practical.
A wooden mass visually unfolds to reveal a statement wall, staircase, bedside table, sofa, and yet another bedside table combined with an armrest. Storage is hidden in the central wall, and the extensive use of wood makes the crib look inviting despite its minimalist design approach.
