This is The First 'Selfie' Hashtag in Instagram History

The word "Selfie" officially became the Oxford Dictionary's Word of the Year 2013. The usage has reportedly increased by a whopping 17,000% since last year.
That's interesting of course. But what's more interesting is if we can find the first selfie ever uploaded to social media. In Instagram itself, 55 million photos are shared each day. How many of that are selfies?
The hashtag #selfie has been used on Instagram 57 million times, the company said. And according to Instagram, this is the first ever photo tagged with the hashtag #selfie. It was uploaded on January 16, 2011 by user Jennifer Lee:
