Leon was borin without fingers on one of his hands. Awesome father Paul McCarthy didn't want him to feel different, so he made a prosthetic hand with a 3D printer so his son could be excited about becoming a cyborg.
The segment below is from CBS Evening news and it tells how McCarthy used instructions and designs by inventor Ivan Owen to create a prosthetic hand for his son. The 3D printed hand costs 5 bucks compared to typical prosthesis devices. The hand can also be added to and re-printed as Leon grows up.
