With newspapers declining, would it be better if people just printed it as they bought them instead of printing a whole stack and letting the ones unsold go to waste?
These new Meganews Magazine autonomous newsstands could do just that for the print industry. The kiosk has access to a remote server where publishers upload the latest edition of their paper. Customers can browse more than 200 different magazines, newspapers or journals, and when they select what they want, a freshly printed copy will be made just for you. The first machine has officially been installed in Stockholm, Sweden.
It reduces the amount of paper used for sure if you're the type to go green on everything. Or you know, you could just go ONLINE to read. [Meganews via Notcot]
