[News/Video] Shoujo Jidai kicked off Arena Tour, 500k copies of first album released

On May 31st, SNSD kicked off their ’1st Japan Arena Tour’ concerts at Osaka Jo Hall in front of about 9,000 fans. At the concert, the girls performed over 30 songs which includes their debut song ‘Genie’ as the opener.
Japan’s 3 biggest sports newspaper, Sponichi, Sankei Sports and Nikkan Sports reported in detail about the concert and showed great interest in the girls. According to these sources, the girls also talked in Japanese in the midst of their performances and this carved big smiles on the faces of the fans.
Also, it was reported that a total of 500,000 copies of SNSD 1st Japanese album ‘Girls’ Generation’ were released so far. Meanwhile, in conjunction with the sales of the first album starting from May 31st, the ‘Girls’ Generation Costume Exhibition’ was held at Tower Records stores in Tokyo’s Shibuya and Shinjuku, Nagoya and Osaka.
