[NEWS] Super Junior’s Heechul will join the army on September 1st
2011.08.22
Super Junior’s Heechul will join the army on September 1st and do alternative service for twenty-three months.
Heechul’s last performance will be on SBS’s Inkigayo on the 28th. He will not attend SM Town’s concert in Japan. The other nine members of Super Junior will continue working and performing all over the world.
The reason Heechul is doing alternative service is because of an accident sustained in 2006. He was driving home after paying his respects to Donghae’s deceased father’s and he had a big accident. Heechul had to have seven metal pins inserted into his fractured leg.
After the accident, Heechul couldn’t sleep well after the accident and he couldn’t fold his legs properly.
Heechul’s agency, SM Entertainment said, “He doesn’t want to draw attention to his entrance into the army, so we will not have any extra events on that day.”
