2NE1’s leader CL discussed the group’s next album and solo career.

According to a recent interview with Billboard, CL revealed that 2NE1 plans to release a new album this April. While a lead single or concept is still to be chosen, she ensures that the music is classic 2NE1.

She introduced the album, “I think 2NE1 style is songs like ‘I Am The Best’ and ‘Can’t Nobody.’ The song ‘I Love You’ was a new kind of song not only for the fans but also new for us. We will go back to the lively, fun yet different 2NE1 style music.”

In the interview, CL also added that she is currently preparing her debut solo album which is tentatively due for release later this year, after 2NE1’s comeback promotions have wrapped up.
