Now that the C-segment model has been elected the 2014 European Car of the Year, the French carmaker has decided to add an additional 60,000 orders for the 308.

With plans to launch the 308 SW in April 2014, the company has also announced the introduction of a night shift starting on June 2 at its Sochaux plant.

The night shift is expected to operate for at least six months and perhaps longer depending on demand, and will produce 26 vehicles per hour, raising the daily output of the Peugeot 308 by 180 to a total of 1,563 units.
