The rare footage from Return of the Jedi was posted by a fan who bought an old
LaserDisc that Lucasfilm created back in the '80s to showcase an editing system.
The fan has also posted eight other videos featuring alternate takes of well-known scenes. There's one where Luke Skywalker visits Jedi Master Yoda for the last time, plus a minute-long clip of R2-D2 repairing Luke's X-Wing fighter on Dagobah.
You can view all the
videos through here. While the Facebook page claims that posting the clips is under the "fair use" provision in U.S. copyright law, there's no telling how much longer they'll be up before Disney forces them to take it down.
