The latest from Studio Ghibli is actually the first film by Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata in 14 years. Dubbed the Tale of Princess Kaguya, his films are usually overshadowed by Hayao Miyazaki, but this trailer may just reveal it won't have that problem.
The trailer below, which brings a hand drawn and classical feel to the characters and environment forgoes the classic Ghibli character design style completely.
It's based on the Japanese folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, in which the Princess Kaguya is found as a baby in a glowing bamboo stalk. Check out the trailer after the jump.
