A woman was forced to confront the reality of two things recently at the Beijing Capital International Airport. 1 - Throw away the $200 bottle of Cognac she can't bring on board because it's too big for a hand carry... or.. 2 - Chug it all down so you don't waste it!
She chose option 2.
She was stopped for having a 700ml bottle of Remy Martin XO Excellence in her hand luggage.
Liquids over 100ml are not allowed in carry-on luggage. The woman, in her 40s, decided that she would just drink the entire bottle herself.
She was so drunk from it that she couldn't stand up, and wasn't even allowed on board the plane. She woke up several hours after her flight departed.
