You're going to be checking out a 30 million-year-old limestone cave. What's more unique is that this cave is inhabited by a huge colony of glow worms. Photographer Joseph Michael took these pictures, and they are breathtaking!
It almost looks alien.
Or something from a sci-fi movie.
But this is real and it's not photoshopped.
The glow worms are called Arachnocampa luminosa, and they are a species of fungus gnat native to New Zealand.
It is bioluminescent in both the larval and Imago stages.
It can be found in wet caves and grottoes.
Michael traveled to different caves around New Zealand to capture the images.
Each exposure would take between 30-60 minutes, and he had to spend many nights in the caves.
The result are these pictures.
And they are well worth it.
