The Kailash Temple  (Kannada: ಕೈಲಾಸನಾಥ ದೇವಾಲಯ Kailāsanāta) which is also known as Kailasanatha temple is one of the largest rock-cut ancient Hindu temples located in Ellora Caves Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2km. 




The Kailasa Temple is the jewel in the crown even though all of the caves at Ellora are stunning architectural feats. 



The temple is carved to represent Mt. Kailasa, the home of the god Shiva in the Himalayas. 



It is the largest monolithic structure in the world, elaborate workmanship architectural content and sculptural ornamentation.


It contains the largest cantilevered rock ceiling in the world.
