Lightsaber fights have always been one of the major attractions of the Star Wars franchise. But I have a problem with them. While the newer episodes have shown better choreography, they still have something in common with the old: how it ends usually sucks. It involves absolutely zero skill in defeating the opponent.

Here's an example - Anakin vs. Count Dooku. At this moment here, you can see as if Anakin pauses for a while, for some unknown reason:

Which gives the Count his OWN SWEET TIME to cut his arm off.

Stand still, Anakin!

Check out the video:

In all fairness, Anakin redeemed himself when he fought Dooku again. This time, no pausing for shit to happen.

But things are generally lousy. How about the earlier fight between Obi Wan and Darth Maul? It started off really freaking good.

But then, when Obi Wan Force Jumps above him, Darth Maul almost seemed flabbergasted that, that kinda shit could be done.

The ending of course is this:

Watch the fight:

Then there's the final battle between Anakin and Obi Wan, where Anakin jumps over only to get his legs cut off.

In all fairness, Obi Wan did tell Anakin not to try it.

Watch that mess here:

In conclusion, ligthsaber fights are awesome. They just don't end that well. It's not some kind of epic finishing. It always looks like something could have been avoided.

So here's hoping J.J. Abrams don't mess it up

Because does this kinda lightsaber make any sense?
