If you've ever heard someone say they're feeling grumpy, don't fault them. It could be they were born with a grumpiness gene! That's what science found out.
A study from the University of Warwick showed that many British people are genetically predisposed to grumpiness.

This is grumpy? Could it explain why Queen E looks grumpy all the time?

The study looked at 131 different nations, and explained that having a shorter version of a certain gene (5-HTTLPR) “has been associated with higher scores on neuroticism and harm avoidance, stronger attentional bias towards negative stimuli, and lower life satisfaction.”

But Brits aren't the only grumpy ones around. There are more French with a shorter version of that gene.

The Danes and the Dutch, meanwhile, have a lovely long version of the gene in question.
