There are selfies, like the one you just took earlier on today. And then there are super selfies. Stuff like jumping in the air all dressed up. And then finally, there are INTENSE Selfies, like this one here from Ferdinand Puentes, who took it after his plane nosedived off the coast of Hawaii.
Puentes was a passenger on the plane flying offshore of Kalaupapa, Molokai in Hawaii. He happened to have a GoPro camera with him too.
As the sirens in the plane went off, it warned passengers that the plane was about to crash into the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
As the plane took a nosedive, Puentes snapped a shot on his GoPro. He held on to a floating seat cushion in the water, and then later on took a selfie of himself. In the background, the plane was sinking into the water.
According to Hawaii's KHON, Puentes was in the ocean for a while before getting rescued by the Coast Guard:
"Steel-toed boots, heavy work jeans, and long sleeve shirt. It was hard and exhausting to swim with all that," Puentes said.
After floating for what seemed like hours, Puentes and the rest of the people on board were picked up by the Coast Guard.
