Thanks to social media, more young people are becoming couples. But just how much does it take to fall in love online?

A new study conducted by U.K. electronics retailer Pixmania shows just how quickly it is to fall in love with someone else online. Gone are the days of wining and dining someone.

Couples over the age of 55 took an average of two and a half months to get together. Millennials, on the other hand, do it quicker with an average of 24 days to start calling each other 'boyfriend and girlfriend'.

The study says it takes an average of 224 tweets, 163 text messages, 70 Facebook messages, 37 emails, and only 30 phone calls for some sparks to fly for one another.
