Taylor Swift is well-known to document her love life in song. If you're an ex that broke her heart: you're in a song. If you're an almost lover, or could have been one: you're in a song. But here's the thing: every singer does this. Not just Taylor.

Taylor appeared on Australian radio show Jules, Merrick & Sophie this morning and spoke out against the criticism of her music's subject matter. Host Sophie Monk asked Taylor what she thought of comments that her music is about her relationships, she explained:

“The most important thing for me is maintaining artistic integrity, which means as a songwriter I still continue to write about my life,” Taylor said.

She called people who criticize her for writing about her love life as sexist.

She goes on to give examples of other singers.

Because people only raise red flags when Taylor does it.
