Broccoli and spinach doesn't sound very appetizing when it comes to the list of top 5 favorite foods you have. Blame it on marketing for making you want to stuff your face with greasy, rich, fatty foods. But don't worry. Turns out you can undo all of that by training your brain to prefer healthy food.
The study, published in the Nutrition & Diabetes journal suggests that it is possible to reverse the addictive power of unhealthy food.
Once your brain establishes healthy food addiction circuits, it is very very hard to reverse them.
Scientists created a reward system in 13 overweight and obese men and women to see if they could hack the brain on healthy food.
Jedi mind trick: You will want to eat this! After six months, brain scans revealed changes in the brain reward center associated with learning and addiction which had increased sensitivity to healthy, lower calorie foods.
1. You can do it on your own too. First things first, don't eat too much of anything fried.
Say no.
2. Always eat your veggies.
3. Be wary of calories.
4. Set a target for yourself.
5. Eat small amounts, but more frequent.
Don't stuff your face like this.
Just remember. Healthy living is more awesome. All the time.
