The Spotlight: Saint Laurent Classic Tribute Heels
Jan 17, 2014 00:54
We’ve got our eye on Saint Laurent's Classic Tribute Sandal this month. Its design is timeless and it’s a fashion lover’s closet must-have. The Tribute Sandal is popular, and celebrities love it so much that the shoe even earned the title of being a ubiquitous “go-to red carpet shoe”
History: The Tribute was launched October 2007, quickly becoming a hit with its super high heel and subtle platforms whilst exuding the vibe of the 1970s ‘YSL heyday.’ The Tribute is also produced in a myriad of colors and textures, and it’s even got a devoted following of fans who collect them in every style they can get their, ahem, feet in.
Why we love it: The Tribute is a modern classic style that you can’t go wrong with. On the plus side, Hedi Slimane, Saint Laurent’s new creative director is said to be revamping the Tribute and we can’t wait to see what the upgrade will look like. We can only imagine, based on Slimane’s latest offerings, what it might look like.
For Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2014 collection, Hedi Slimane took style inspirations from the late-1980s and early 1990s style and married them with Los Angeles grunge. The collection unearths the feeling edgy boldness, represented in the short dresses, hyper skinny tailoring of pant-suits and kitten heels. Watch the full SS2014 fashion show in the video below.
Why you need it: It’s effortlessly transitional, and you won’t have to try so hard to keep up with shoe trends when you own a classic such as the Tribute.
