BMW's i8 carbon fiber hybrid coupe is already sold out. The concept plug-in hybrid will officially go on sale next year, though there's no word whether they will amp up the production. The coolest part of the car may just be its key fob.

BMW i8's key fob looks like a smartphone in the future. It has a high resolution LCD display and can reportedly display charging levels, charging times and remaining distance the i8 can continue to go before it needs to be recharged.

Bimmerfile found these pictures and reports that it'll have buttons that can be programmed to launch shortcuts.



The BMW i8 made its official production debut at the recent L.A. Auto Show. It has has a 1.5 liter engine with three cylinder turbo. The 3,300 pound car has and a total of 362 horsepower, 420 pound-feet of torque and a top speed of 62 miles per hour.
