Bluetooth was given an overhaul in 2010 with a 4.0 standard. It's getting sexier hook ups too with it being used for wireless speakers to smartwatches. The latest update, will help you save battery.
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has announced Bluetooth 4.1, the first update since 2010. It will dramatically smarten up the connection, and it will intelligently disconnect when you leave the room.
When you come back into the room it will intelligently reconnect. This will save quite a lot of battery, without noticing.
